INNMEDSCAN and DETMED organise Summer School for Master's Students in Azerbaijan
The Summer School 'Advanced Radiation Detection and Nuclear Technologies' was successfully held on 18–19 June 2026 at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Organised within the framework of the Horizon Europe projects INNMEDSCAN and DETMED, the initiative brought together 19 Master's students from universities and research institutions across Azerbaijan for two days of advanced scientific training.
The programme combined expert lectures with practical laboratory sessions, providing participants with specialised knowledge in radiation detection, detector electronics, gamma-ray spectroscopy, nuclear technologies and medical imaging. Through direct interaction with experienced researchers, students strengthened both their theoretical understanding and practical skills while gaining valuable insights into emerging technologies and current scientific challenges.

Beyond its educational dimension, the Summer School promoted knowledge exchange and strengthened collaboration between universities, research institutions and European research projects. By creating opportunities for scientific exchange and interdisciplinary learning, the initiative contributes to developing the next generation of researchers in radiation technologies and medical imaging.
The Deep Tech Lab is one of the partners of both the INNMEDSCAN and DETMED projects, contributing to their research, training and knowledge exchange activities within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Staff Exchanges (MSCA) programme. Through its active participation in initiatives such as this Summer School, the laboratory reinforces its commitment to research excellence, international collaboration and the development of highly skilled researchers.
